If you’ve proposed to structure a multiple-language website the most difficult question will arrives how you are going to optimized it for specific language for specific country and get all page properly indexed by search engines? If you want to seriously promote your language site, it is best to have separate domains for each language version of your site with country specific tld though there is possibility to use your sub domain. Also host the sites in specific country; the main advantage you get, if you host the site in specific country using same country tld rather than using same IPs of a single host, it will be beneficial to you, as spider will get different host’s Ip of country specific as a part of crawling process.

Also a search engine gives precedence to a websites in a searcher’s own country, and listed in country specific directories/search engines, there are more chance to get listed in DMOZ with a separate site in separate language. Also you need to target your language pages to rate high for specific keywords of particular country search terms and trends. Adding same site content in new languages is one of the best ways to attract traffic and it would be not considered as duplicate content since the words of all languages are different. However there are two possibilities you have: using sub domains and using separate domains but using separate domains will benefits you in long run without affecting your main site.
